Privacy Policy
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. This document explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control or delete it.
1. Who We Are
Movers ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that provides pre-market stock activity and financial data for informational purposes. Our app is available on iOS and Android. You can reach us at hello@getmovers.app.
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only what those platforms provide by default: a unique user identifier and, optionally, your email address. We do not receive passwords. We store your authentication token in Supabase to keep you signed in.
Device & Push Notification Tokens
To send you pre-market alerts, we generate and store a push notification token unique to your device. This token identifies your device to Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — it does not identify you personally. If you disable notifications, the token is no longer used.
Watchlist & Alert Preferences
We store the stock tickers you add to your watchlist and any price or volume alert thresholds you configure. This data is tied to your account and is used exclusively to deliver the service.
Usage Data
We may collect anonymised usage information such as which screens you visit, feature interactions, and app crash reports. This data cannot be linked back to you individually and is used only to improve the app.

- Contacts or address book
- Photos, microphone, or camera
- Precise demographic information
3. Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party services. Each is used solely to deliver the core functionality described.
Supabase
We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your account data, watchlist, and alert preferences are stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. Supabase Privacy Policy.
Polygon.io
We query Polygon.io for pre-market stock price and volume data. Your personal data is not transmitted to Polygon.io — API calls are made from our backend on your behalf. Polygon Privacy Policy.
Marketaux
We use Marketaux to retrieve financial news headlines associated with stock movers. No personal data is transmitted to Marketaux. Marketaux Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and validate purchases. RevenueCat receives your App Store or Google Play purchase receipt and a pseudonymous user identifier. They do not receive your name or email unless you choose to provide it. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Anthropic (Claude API)
We may use Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI-powered summaries of market news. If used, only anonymised market data and news text is sent — no personal account data is transmitted to Anthropic. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
4. Push Notifications
If you grant notification permission, we will send you pre-market alerts at approximately 5:30 AM Eastern Time on trading days. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications does not delete your account or data.
Push notification delivery relies on Apple APNs (iOS) and Google FCM (Android). We do not share your notification token with any advertising network.
5. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To display your personalised watchlist and alert settings
- To send pre-market push notifications you have opted into
- To process and validate your subscription through RevenueCat
- To diagnose bugs and improve app performance
- To respond to support requests you send us directly
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating and improving the app.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, watchlist, alert preferences, and push notification token within 30 days. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained for up to 24 months in aggregated form.
7. Your Rights
GDPR (European Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data. You also have the right to object to certain processing and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@getmovers.app. We will respond within 30 days.
CCPA (California Residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; request deletion of your personal information; and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a data request, contact us at hello@getmovers.app.
8. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of all data associated with your account at any time by:
- Using the "Delete Account" option in the app under Account → Settings
- Emailing hello@getmovers.app with the subject line "Delete my data"
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days and confirm deletion by email.
9. No Data Selling
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. Ever.
10. Security
We implement industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (TLS), row-level security in our database, and hashed authentication tokens. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
11. Children's Privacy
Movers is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
